Artists

Heidi Bender is a performance, mixed media, and installation artist. Her work investigates the intersections of globalized economies and communities, shifting technologies, and a physical planet within the context of individual lives. She has shown in the US and abroad, with solo exhibitions at venues such as The Pittsburgh Center for the Arts in Pittsburgh, ROY G BIV Gallery in Columbus, OH, and the Huembes Folkloric Market in Managua, Nicaragua. In addition to her work Bender has collaborated or assisted on projects with Marin Abell, Duane McDiarmid, The ASPECT collective, and SPURSE. Bender received an MFA from the Ohio University (2009), and a BA from Hope College (2004). She currently resides in Waverly, Ohio and is an Adjunct Professor of Art at Shawnee State University. http://www.heidibender.net

Margarita Vásquez Cárdenas is an interdisciplinary artist from Colombia. She received a BA in Fine Arts at the Universidad de los Andes (2002). Later she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship under which she obtained an MFA in Painting from Ohio University (2008). Margarita also holds an MA in Cultural Policy and Arts Management from University College Dublin (2014).  She has exhibited on an international and national level and obtained several awards in different disciplines. Likewise, Vásquez is interested in collaborative and collective endeavors and has worked with the Aspect Collective and Spurse as well as various artists. Parallel to her creative practice she is a co-founder of Parămus (2009), an artist collective and non profit organization dedicated to connecting the Arts with Society. Currently she is living in Ireland.
